The Science of Cats

The guys at AsapSCIENCE take aim at the internet’s favorite animal/purpose for its existence: Cats.

You’ll never believe what a cat is doing when it sticks its tail up and rubs along your leg. Smelly little weirdos.

“I notice they forgot to cover the science of why dogs are so much cooler,” said the science blogger who was clearly trying to raise a ruckus by starting a cats vs. dogs battle after the video he posted.

Bonus: Check out The Oatmeal’s infographic on just how much cats kill.

I absolutely LOVE these videos!  They are fun to watch and very informative.

Plus, this one is about cats!

You can hide your alcohol in a classy floor globe. If you don’t have room in your house for a full-size bar, this is one cool way to store everything you need. This kind of looks like something a James Bond villain would own.

I won’t lie — I saw one of these at a family member’s house and I was giddy with delight to find out that it was in fact a globe bar. So yes, I want one.

Buckminster Fuller’s “Dymaxion Map” turns many of our assumptions about world maps on end, for considerable benefit; landmasses experience the least distortion of any projection, and are almost entirely contiguous. Furthermore, it folds into a perfect icosahedron, for viewing in the round.
The boldness and sensibility that were stifled by convention in cartography are released here, with a long, thoughtful creative process, fueled by a life of practicality.

Europe why you so little?

I like it. I want to print it and make it 3D.

Also, Europe is very tiny.

This may sound weird… but I would really like to touch one of these. I can’t help be attracted to how sharp and how smooth they are simultaneously. So beautiful.

It’s funny to look back at this and realize how many people had no idea what Arnold was wearing but that it never went “viral” do to the lack of internet access.

I reblog this every time it comes up on my dashboard, not because it is a “rule” but because every time I see it the love and sincerity on her face hit me all over again and I think everyone deserves to see that.

And THIS is why I adore Catherine Tate. She’s loud and brash but in quieter moments… her soul comes shining through and it makes everything about her so much more beautiful.

Such good advice. :)
